Burmese lacquerware offering vessel, known as hsun ok or soon-oke, black, 27cm high.
This beautiful small lacquerware vessel made in bamboo and lacquer is constructed in 2 main parts, opening to reveal a cinnabar coloured compartment.
The beautiful shape resembles a pagoda. Fabulous proportions and an elegant black design.
Traditionally such vessels are used to present food to a monastery, but makes a wonderful, timeless, decorative piece. A great decorator’s piece.
These are not often found in Europe.
