Thai Bronze Metal Seated Buddha Statue, Approx 21.5cm high, CC17.
A nicely detailed seated Buddha in brass metal with antiqued coppery green bronze finish. With flame usnisha. Made in Thailand.
Seated on a pedestal base. The Buddha’s hands are in the gesture of Bhumisparsa Mudra – the symbol of touching the earth; calling the earth to witness. In Thai it is better known as the subduing Mara position – Mara being the demon that tried to prevent the Buddha attaining enlightenment. The legs are in half lotus position.
