Old Thai Woodcarved Statue, Chinese figure, TWCF01.
This beautiful Thai carving, from Northern Thailand, depicts a young Chinese boy, in seated posture wearing traditional Chinese clothing.
Very nicely carved and finished. A charming piece.
Not a true antique in terms of age, but this would have been carved circa 1950s – 1970s.
Teak wood with painted finish. Some signs of wear due to age. Please view photographs.
This type of statue could have been used outdoors in Thailand, but in a typically damp western European climate, probably best kept indoors.
Dimensions – approx 36cm high, 22cm wide x 23cm deep.
Weight approx 3.5kg.
