Thai Bronze Metal Seated Buddha Statue, Approx 46cm high, CM6042.
A nicely detailed seated Buddha in brass metal with an antiqued dark bronze finish. Made in Thailand. With flame usnisha.
Seated on a low pedestal base. The Buddha’s hands are in the gesture of Bhumisparsa Mudra – the symbol of touching the earth; calling the earth to witness. In Thai it is better known as the subduing Mara position – Mara being the demon that tried to prevent the Buddha attaining enlightenment. The legs are in half lotus position.
