Thai Royal Palace Emerald Buddha, Rainy season attire, 28cm high.
This is a beautifully cast resin representation of the Emerald Buddha (Phra Kaeo Morakot) which is housed in the Royal Palace in Bangkok. This representation depicts the Buddha in rainy season attire.
It has been obtained directly from the Royal Palace itself, the most important Buddhist temple in Thailand. This Buddha has been blessed by the monks in the Royal Palace.
Such Buddhas are rarely seen outside Thailand and this is a rare opportunity to acquire one.
The Buddha carries the Royal Seal and the full title of the temple in Thai. The forehead carries a a sparkling jewel.
Seated on a nicely detailed lotus pedestal base. The Buddha’s hands are in meditation. The legs are in half lotus position.
All our Buddhas are legally imported under license issued by the Department of Fine Arts in the Ministry of Culture in Thailand, for the protection of Thailand’s cultural heritage.
As well as the export license tag from the Department of Culture this Buddha is also supplied with a prayer card in Thai, also from the Royal Palace.
